60 Seconds To Fame - the One minute film competition on disability - was part of Ability FEST 2007, India International Disability Film Festival which concluded in Chennai on October 8 2007.

The jury members were Govind Nihalani, Nafisa Ali, Dev Benegal, Ravi K Chandran, Prakash Raj, Salil Chaturvedi and Neenu Kewlani

This is what the jury had to say about the winning films –

  • The jury for the 60 Seconds to Fame competition has unanimously resolved to give the award for the best film to REACH OUT directed by S. Binesh Ross & Samuel Raj for its outstanding animation, strong images and a powerful story, simply told. The jury felt that the film had shown the power of diversity to discover and open new horizons.

  • The jury for the 60 Seconds to Fame competition has unanimously resolved to give the award for the second best film to RESPECT ALL directed by R. Hariharakrishnan for a beautiful, evocative, and heart-warming story of transformation, simply told, by a child who ‘gets it’.

  • The jury for the 60 Seconds to Fame competition has unanimously resolved to give the award for the third best film to CHAL directed by Haveesh Vemuri for a simple story which takes us on a journey regardless of where we come from. A cinematic tour de force.

  • The jury for the 60 Seconds to Fame competition makes special mention of the film BLEND directed by Shalini Agarwal for blending different perspectives into a wholesome experience. When differences are blended, the resulting composite is usually much richer.

  • The jury for the 60 Seconds to Fame competition makes special mention of the film THE MUTE POET directed by M. Balaji. The jury thought the film was a stunning interplay of word image and text, which went beyond conventions and let us experience the poetry in cinema.
